Joran had only just turned 17 when he passed away on February 3, 2020, peacefully and in the arms of his dear mother. The battle was over, he could not take it any longer and was completely exhausted.

His beautiful, exuberant smile, which has given great joy to his parents, brother and loved ones for 17 years, is reflected in every memory and every photo. With his smile he gave pleasure to so many.

Dear Joran, you live on in the hearts of the people who knew you. And also the people who did not know you carry you in their hearts because so many people talk about you with so much love.

During the memorial service, this beautiful poem was recited by your mom

“Do not stand at my grave and weep;

I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glints on the snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning’s hush

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry;

I am not there. I did not die.”
